From late January to early March, Santa Fe hosts a number of events that Christians of all demoninations will want to enjoy. The following is a listing of some of the events.

Fellowship, Praise and Worship for Santa Fe's Young Adults
Christian young adults need not look for something to do on Saturday night, January 28. "Praise and Worship Night" at Capital Christian Church (Don Gaspar and Cordova Road.) will feature praise bands from Sangre de Cristo Bible Church, Blaze Fellowship, New Life Family Fellowship, and Capital Christian. This free concert starts at 7:00 p.m.

"Praying with St. Theresa" at St. Anne Catholic Church
"Praying with St. Theresa", a talk and video on the saint known as the "Little Flower", will be given at St. Anne Catholic Church on Sunday, January 31, 2006. The presenter will be Brother Joseph Schmidt from Santa Fe's Sangre de Cristo Retreat Center in Chupadero Village. For more information, please call Brother Steve Armenta at 983-4430 ext 107.

First Thursday Prayer
On February 2, the First Thursday Prayer group will meet at the South-Side Cafe for breakfast and prayer from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. All are welcome. The South Side Cafe is located at 3011 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe.

"Quest" for God - A Young Adult Fellowship, Bible Study & Prayer
Want to know God in an intimate, satisfying way? Join Berean Church as it launches Quest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, January 27, and continues on February 3rd and Fridays after that. Quest is designed specifically for young adults who are single, divorced, married, married with children, or are in blended families. Children are warmly welcomed to these events.

Free Concert at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church
The return of the Santuario to the Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish will be celebrated with a free concert by Father Fernando Echeverri from Columbia, SA on February 4th at 7:00 p.m. Our Lady Guadalupe is located at 417 Agua Fria in Santa Fe.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebrates the Return of the Santuario
On February 5th, a special "Mass of Thanksgiving" will take place at 12:00 noon. A procession will begin at Our Lady Guadalupe Church and go to the Santuario, where mass will celebrated. A reception at the Parish Center will follow. Our Lady Guadalupe is located at 417 Agua Fria in Santa Fe.

Three events are scheduled for February. The first event will be a dinner on Monday, February 6th at 6:30 p.m. Msgr. Jerome will speak on the "History of the Blessed Mother in New Mexico." "Immigration and the Church's Response"
Westminster Presbyterian Church will present the workshop "Immigration and the Church's Response" on Saturday, February 11, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The presenters, part of a border ministry, will participate in the 11:00 service on Sunday followed by a potluck dinner and discussion. Ash Wednesday

Lent starts with Ash Wednesday, which for Catholic, Lutheran, and Episcopal churches falls on March 1 this year. Ashes, the mark of remorse, mourning and repentance, are taken from the burning of the previous year’s palms. The crosses placed on the forehead symbolize the beginning of the Lenten season.
